There’s something magical about documenting a family’s story right at home — where life unfolds naturally and love is felt in every corner. The Garrison family recently welcomed their second son, and this season as a family of four was the perfect time to preserve these memories.

A Lifestyle Newborn Session at Home in Baltimore
From quiet snuggles in the nursery to warm smiles gathered in the kitchen, every moment told a piece of their story. Big brother leaned in with curiosity and pride, already stepping into his new role with such sweetness.

As a Baltimore in-home family photographer, these are the kinds of real, connected moments I love most — no studio setup needed, just light-filled rooms and natural connection.

How to Prepare for Your In-Home Family Photography Session
When getting ready for an at-home session with your new baby, here are two easy ways to make it go smoothly:

  • Pick your favorite cozy spots. Think nursery, bed, living room, or kitchen — anywhere your family naturally gathers. Natural light and comfort go a long way.
  • Don’t stress perfection. Embrace the chaos (yes, even with toddlers!). Those real-life in-between moments are often the most meaningful.

Why These Moments Matter
Sessions like this are why I do what I do — capturing the honest, fleeting moments that become heirlooms. One day, these images won’t just remind you of what your family looked like — they’ll remind you how it felt.

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT Megan

A mother of four sons and a firm believer in the beauty of everyday moments.

As a film photographer, I cherish the art of slow, intentional storytelling—capturing the quiet in-between moments, the fleeting newborn snuggles, and the way love unfolds in the simplest gestures. Motherhood has taught me that time moves far too quickly, and photography allows me to pause it—preserving the feeling of these days in a way that’s honest and lasting.

I believe in more than just taking photos; I believe in creating heirlooms—tangible memories you can hold in your hands, pass down through generations, and relive over and over again.
